We're hoping people do discover what a gem Nail'd is, because with a bustling online community the multiplayer could become addictive despite the game setup issues. Even so, the game is a wonderfully unique racer that really stands out even based solely on its single-player component. If you have even an inkling of interest in this type of game and want to see how fast it really can be, we doubt you will be disappointed with it. http://naildbiter.com/kewLn

nail'd review
If you don't like getting punished for putting the pedal to the metal, nail'd is for you. The environments are varied, tracks are twisted, the sense of speed is intense, and the soundtrack amps up the excitement. Rarely do players get a chance to have such unrestrained fun at racing. nail'd is a frenetic arcade racing game that offers something new to a game genre stacked with way too many sequels. http://naildbiter.com/2G0vp
nail'd Review
The simple verdict regarding nail'd is that the game is a blast to play. It may not be the be-all, end-all, ultimate driving experience, and it may not provide tons of content or incentive beyond the thrill of the race, but it is a damn fine racer for anyone who wants to go fast and fly high. If that's you, go get nail'd. http://naildbiter.com/CoBmk

There also isn't a way for players to join up randomly in Quick Match without other players already having set up games as hosts, so unless people are taking the time to host games, Quick Match is useless. But even if it finds games, you're at the mercy of the host instead of a standardized set of modes or even randomized modes, which would be nice. It's too bad, because the races we did get to play online got intense in a way that races against AI could not, especially when we had some serious photo-finishes. http://naildbiter.com/6nC4g
nail'd review
With the amount of turns, sometimes vertical, it can be tough to orient yourself at high speeds. Strategically placed guide arrows provide a cue to where you should be headed. Those cues aren't there all the time, so anticipate full-on collisions. Luckily, the developers respawn the player slightly ahead of the crash point, allowing for manageable recovery in the race. nail'd is fairly forgiving on colliding into obstacles and other racers, as well as giving you credit for boosts when you probably didn't earn it. As forgiving as nail'd may be, the Time Attack mode against the developer's ghosts really put racers to the test on how well they know the tracks.
Multiplayer racing allows for up to 12 players online or multiplayer via system link. Players can set the gameplay type and set mutators, which allow modifiers like unlimited boost or no collisions. Another bonus mode included with the retail DLC code is Detonator, which puts a bomb on the back of a player's ride. Players must score boosts to get rid of the bomb. It's a unique and pretty intense multiplayer mode. Sometimes the player doesn't have much of a chance, depending where on the track they are. No boost opportunities around = boom. The only noticeable difference for online races was the respawn time was slightly longer than in the single-player races. http://naildbiter.com/NwulW

Visually, nail'd is quite impressive. Loosely based on Arizona, Greece, Yosemite National Park, and the Andes Mountains, every track offers up plenty of pretty vistas for players to enjoy while plummeting from skyscraper-equivalent heights. The multi-path design of each course not only adds to the scenery, but also provides functional variety, making each race a little more unique and keeping things fresh, even within the same areas. http://naildbiter.com/iNxXR

Brian's final say: BUY THIS GAME! I'm dead serious. nail'd will surprise you with it's awesomeness. The single player is a lot of fun and a great way to learn the ropes. It will help ease you into the chaotic, explosive online multiplayer, lest you get your box cleaned! If you even remotely enjoy racing games, especially those with an over the top approach, then nail'd will leave you hot and sweaty and begging for more! Who needs those other racing games with 5 kajillion cars parked in the garage when all you need is one bad-ass dirt bike? http://naildbiter.com/Y7YD9

I enjoyed playing Nail'd for quite a few hours and you just need to take Nail'd for what it is: a mindless awesome speed induced arcade racer that will have you doing crazy stunts and going way too fast. Turn off your brain and simply race as fast as you can while getting as much air as possible; and yes, that's me half a mile above you about to land on you and make you explode; you're about to get nail'd. http://naildbiter.com/vdankBGeO6

It's too bad that the one component of Nail'd that should really stand out is actually not user friendly: the multiplayer. There's no splitscreen available, although there is system link. The online is a bit of a mystery right now, because hardly anyone is playing. Much of the time, we have encountered not a single server available. The ones we have joined almost always end up kicking us when we win too much. The real problem with the multiplayer, though, is that the design for setting up races is kind of a mess. It's not immediately clear how it works, so most new players will end up racing on one track over and over. In order to race on different tracks, the host must pre-select a series of tracks, but these can't be altered mid-way. In fact, there's no way to change race parameters without completely quitting out of the server. http://naildbiter.com/xZLyM
nail'd review
Four gameplay modes are featured in nail'd: Simple Race (first to the finish), Time Challenge (race through timed checkpoints), Stunt Challenge (achieve boost feats to earn points), Boost Madness (unlimited turbo for some super speedy racing) and Free Race (multiplayer timed challenges, set by players). A main single player campaign Tournament is also included, which will take many hours to complete on its own. Playing through the Tournament mode unlocks additional vehicle parts, paint jobs and rider clothing. It also gives the player bragging rights online. The player's performance is tracked for a leaderboard rating. Leaderboards are also broken down by region, track and race type as well.
There are fourteen different tracks included in nail'd. Included in the retail package of nail'd is a code for 4 additional bonus tracks (a little incentive to buy the game new rather than rent or buy used). Racing tracks in nail'd are varied and are hands down the most exciting and twisting tracks I've raced on. There are many alternate paths. Oh, and there is plenty of air. Jump from ramps and glide over hot air balloons, trains, boats and wind turbines. Just watch those blades. True to its title, nail'd delivers on its name. Anticipate collisions. Hard ones. The crashes are not spectacular (I didn't know if some crashes resulted in my entrails flying or random machinery spewing out), nor are the character models super. The only time I really had to look at my racer in detail was on the customize screen. But, hey, this is about the furious racing, right? Adding to the adrenaline rush of racing the tracks is some cranking heavy metal music by Slipknot, Queens of the Stone Age, Rise Against, and more. There are also exclusive performances of Decimator by Wayne Static of Static-X and Raymond Herrera of Fear Factory and Arkaea. A strong soundtrack accompaniment to the intense trigger clutching races. Yes, I induced trigger-finger swelling. http://naildbiter.com/OVhlC
nail'd Review
The game's Go Off-Road and multiplayer modes are likely where players will spend much of their time after the single-player career is over. Those who have no desire to swap bike parts may even skip that portion of the game entirely, as all of the tracks are unlocked from the outset, which is great, considering the relatively low track count. In either of the aforementioned modes, players can compete in Simple, Stunt Challenge, Boost Madness, or Detonator races. The winner of Stunt Challenge is determined by points earned from completing feats, with slower racers losing points the longer it takes them to finish, Boost Madness gives all involved unlimited nitro fuel, and Detonator is like playing hot potato with a bomb -- perform a feat to pass it on. Multiplayer allows up to 12 players at once, and there is of course a Time Attack mode for solo racers. http://naildbiter.com/wHgy4
nail'd Review (Xbox 360)
.nail'd is a great first entry into a potential franchise. With everything that I have said though, there are a few improvements that I think should be considered if there does happen to be a part 2. For one thing, the menu system for getting online is a bit confusing, at least at first. It would be nice to see something a bit more simple for us older dudes. I would also love to see a random option for online racing. That way you can just let the game pick the tracks and modifiers (full boost, no collisionsâ¦) while you think up your next Oh Snap smack-talkin' line. For God's sake, don't let my nit-picks discourage you from purchasing nail'd. These are just suggestions that I would like to see in the future. http://naildbiter.com/R2bPr
Nail'd
Nail'd is in no way a realistic representation of what off-roading is like in any way. That's not a bad thing though because they aren't trying to be a serious realistic racer. Nail'd is all about going balls-out and seeing how much air you can get while making your way to the finish line while avoiding oncoming trains and more. Nail'd could do for arcade quad games what Burnout did for arcade racers; it's simple and fun to play and never takes itself too seriously while doing so. My only concern is if there is much of a shelf life and substance here after a substantial amount of gameplay (especially if you can't play online), as it is fun to jump in and slam down some quick times, but for how long with it being almost too simplistic. http://naildbiter.com/LTRh7

Grab your white knuckle cream, it's gonna be a bumpy ride.
It would have been great to see some create-a-track options or some deeper customization for your character and career, but who cares â" it's an arcade racer and there is always a shot at a nail'd two. Grab nail'd for some good old fashioned white knuckle racing that will make your butt pucker from time to time. A solid game and worth the buy or at least a try to check out the Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm-Flailing Tube Men that are scattered throughout each race and are comedic to say the least. http://naildbiter.com/mFGN2

The good thing with parts customization is that there is not really a superior way to go. Every part, from body to handlebars to shocks, affects different stats with a give-and-take - for instance, one part will give you better air control so you can steer during jumps, but it will reduce your ground steering. Playing around with these parts is fun because you can really feel the difference: our first attempt at specialization saw us focusing on parts that maximized air control over everything else, and we were practically like an airplane during jumps. Later, we focused on pure acceleration and created a virtual ground rocket that was a bitch to turn. http://naildbiter.com/XLk1b

Players can get acclimated to the racing mayhem of nail'd with a brief tutorial. The speedy tutorial shows the core mechanics of racing, which is pretty straightforward: accelerate, brake/reverse, steering and downforce control, and boosting. Players can boost (aka nitro) by flying through flaming hoops, knocking other players off the track, landing huge jumps and more. nail'd allows players to select from ATVs or motocross bikes. Vehicles can be fairly customized to player's preference. If you want an ATV that handles better while airborne or want a better boost ability or acceleration, you can customize it as you please. Stats that are affected include: steering on the ground, steering in the air, boost regeneration, boost capacity, acceleration and boost acceleration. There are six main vehicle parts that can be customized which affect those performance factors: body, exhaust, engine, handlebars, shocks, and wheels. Parts can be custom painted and the body can feature a design of choice. So players can really create a unique looking and performing ATV or motocross bike, all while keeping a fair playing balance in online races. http://naildbiter.com/kIOgf
nail'd Review
The game includes a single-player Tournament mode that runs players through almost 50 races, unlocking new events, parts, and costumes as they conquer each contest, but this is clearly not the game's primary focus. The progression is straightforward and the vehicle and rider customization is fairly rudimentary, with each added part decreasing one or two of the six stats while increasing others. This maintains the balance expected from an arcade racer, and keeps time spent customizing at a minimum. This is no Gran Turismo 5. It's not about detailed specifications, extensive custom tuning, or spending hours upon hours working one's way up to that dream car and mega cash flow; it's about the visceral appeal of each individual race. http://naildbiter.com/atypV
nail'd Review (Xbox 360)
.What's not to like about this game? I've been playing this game over the last month and I am in love. The bikes handle like a dream and the graphics are gorgeous. Seriously, I was amazed at how beautiful this game looked. The track designs are superb. You are not going to find tracks that are more insane and fun than what you get in nail'd. The jumps are bigger than life while the environments are very much alive. I wasn't expecting a lot since I had never heard of TechLand before (I have since found out that they have quite a few games under their belt) plus the 0 price tag suggested that it was a budget game. But boy, was I wrong! http://naildbiter.com/gzy6r
Nail'd
As mentioned before, the lack of a speedometer does seem a little odd at first, but you get used to it. You never know HOW fast you are going, you just know you're going TOO fast and are about to do some crazy jumps. This speed also makes it somewhat difficult to figure out where you sometimes need to go (even mid-air) because the moment you go out of bounds you will explode and be respawned. The same goes for landing your jumps, sometimes you'll land no problem, and other times you'll crash even though you look like you landed it perfectly. Some rocks can be driven on and bounced off of (when coming down a jump) while others cannot. It's not a huge issue, but it takes time to learn the rules in Nail'd of what you can and cannot do. Also, not really being able to do tricks when you are free falling for so long does seem like an odd omission, but you'll forget it pretty quickly since that turn coming ahead is closing in quickly. http://naildbiter.com/lIuGv

The single-player tournament (the main campaign) is a massive undertaking. It's a sweeping tour of every track, and it features varying race types and mutators, meaning there are entire events of several races in a row where you have Boost Madness and are in the Stunt race type, or there will be races with no racer collisions, etc. This means you have to switch up your racing style, and we found that tweaking the parts of our bike or ATV made a difference in certain events. http://naildbiter.com/fYusU

Tired of racing games that demand perfectionist drifts, careful taps of the accelerator and unforgiving cornering? Count me in. I want to take off and sail from cliffs, hug the tunnel wall of an oncoming train, and wheel-stomp racers. Throw in some hard rocking music and a hot emblazoned skull paint job on my ATV for good measure, and I'm ready to tear it up. nail'd allows players to revel in racing fun and fantasy, and pull off stunts impossible to do in real life. It is a refreshing new arcade racing game with the absolute craziest racing tracks. Ready for breakneck speeds and high flying jumps? http://naildbiter.com/hYT1l
Nail'd Review
The multiplayer aspect, much like the rest of nail'd, is a testament to just how polished the arcade racer is. Although there are a couple of rough patches in terms of vehicle customization and track variety, those certainly don't overshadow the fact that Techland has created a beautiful and intense game that pretty much anyone can pick up and play. More than anything else though, the game is just plain, immersive, fun. That fact alone makes nail'd a title which should find its way into your racing game collection provided you aren't a diehard sim-racing fan. http://naildbiter.com/zhKfR

Throughout each of the game's 14 (18 with the free DLC) curved, convoluted, and multi-branched tracks, opportunities to re-up on boost power are plentiful thanks to fiery slalom gates and stunt rings, as well as more than a dozen boost feats, which are like mini achievements that add nitro fuel to your racing fire. Examples of boost feats are things like wrecking an opponent, sticking a perfect landing, riding a wheelie, driving a flawless segment of the track, or even getting nail'd multiple times in a row. http://naildbiter.com/MN7P4

If that doesn't tickle your fancy, then you can always hop online and test your skills and mettle against other real life racers. This is what nail'd was made for. Over the top, insane online racing. Just wait until you give Detonator a spin. You haven't seen anything like this yet! If you want to know more about the multiplayer madness, please read my preview. But all you really need to know is online rocks harder than an Ozzy concert that will keep you coming back for more. http://naildbiter.com/tvm99

Surprisingly there's a quite decent soundtrack to go along with the game. There are lots of artists I've never heard of but there are the few greats that I do know from Rise Against, Slipknot, and even Queens of the Stone Age. The soundtrack as a whole really fits the mood and fast pace of the game and when that Slipknot kicks in mid-race, I find myself holding the boost button down even harder to try and go faster. http://naildbiter.com/Jm0cp

Grab your white knuckle cream, it's gonna be a bumpy ride
There are tons of great visuals from the dirt, mud, dust and puddles to the environment you race in themselves. You get to speed through places like Arizona, Yosemite Park and Greece. There is also good variety in environments ranging from forests to desserts, warehouses and canyons. The forests are full of vegetation and trees for you to run into, so don't worry about courses being simple. Visibility is also impaired by what you drive through, i.e. getting mud on your visor or driving through dust bowls, which makes the experience feel more real even for an arcade racer. http://naildbiter.com/Gu6Af
nail'd Review (Xbox 360)
Start up is pretty simple. You pick between a male or female rider (purely cosmetic) and then you pick either an MX Bike or an ATV. Your customizable options (different parts like handlebars, tires, shocks, and paint jobs to name a few) are limited at first, but the more of single player that you complete, the more that you will unlock. The two styles of bikes have unique handling that is easily noticeable. Add in a slew of the before mentioned unlockable parts that you can customize your ride with and you have countless handling styles at your finger tips. There are 6 parameters that can be changed with the bike parts that range from acceleration to how well the bike handles in the air. Yes, you can steer these bad boys while flying through the air! Once you get this all squared away, it's time to hit the tracks! There's a pretty hefty single player tournament mode that you can participate in, or you could just go do some off road racing which let's you pick the track and conditions of the race. http://naildbiter.com/jtazT
Nail'd (Xbox 360/PS3/PC) review
Calling the game Nail'd is not a frank excuse for why the game's tracks are littered with collision issues and sometimes unavoidable course-out pitfalls. Heck, the Jackass fan in you will be compelled to exert some boost just so you can see what would happen if you did time a jump in order to hit that mid-air helicopter or that swarm of hot air balloons, even if it meant falling to last place. Again, the game puts a lot of faith in the player to be engrossed enough to keep trying until the tracks' jumps, obstacles and prime boost points are figured out. Still, it was wise for Deep Silver to avoid the 9.99 price point with a slightly more reasonable 9.99. http://naildbiter.com/uPU9R
Nail'd (Xbox 360, PS3, PC) Review
THE 411
How long you play Nail'd all depends on what kind of gamer you are. If you hate typical racing games, you're sure to enjoy how easy, fun and refreshing Nail'd is. If you like racing games, you'll love how fast you can go and how far the game takes its jumps. If you're into smashing stuff, Nail'd lets you smash lots of stuff, people included! Bottom line, Nail'd has everything a gamer could want: simple controls, lots of action, lots of gallows humor and lots of fun. Anyone who can keep track of what 3 individual buttons do can play this game and everyone will enjoy Nail'd, even spectators. http://naildbiter.com/zHLWn
Nail'd
You'll be able to hop on Xbox Live as well and race up to 11 other players in any of the modes as well (I suggest Boost Madness for some craziness) and there's even a unique Leaderboard that Nail'd is using. When you start the game it's going to ask where your location is (state or province), this is because you're going to be comparing yourself to other players in your same region. It definitely feels more competitive that I'm trying to beat someone's record that's close to me as opposed to some kid way overseas. Yes, you'll also be able to compare against those kids with too much free time worldwide as well, but I really like the idea of region leaderboards and I hope it does well and catches on with other games. http://naildbiter.com/uy274

Nail'd Review
Despite these flaws, Nail'd is still a surprisingly fun game. Once you get used to the wonky physics engine and collision detection, it's a rather solid racer, especially for a budget title. But don't get me wrong, you're still going to blow up. A lot. Sometimes for seemingly no reason whatsoever (a la Split/Second) or because it is often difficult to know where you are going. It doesn't get terribly frustrating, however; unlike the multiplayer, which is disappointingly sparse. Still, as easy as it is for me to find flaws, I continually find myself coming back for more, usually playing for an hour or two at a time. The fair difficulty, precise handling, and ludicrously exaggerated jumps all make this an enjoyable racing game that can be enjoyed by many people, especially those who remember a time when racing games could take place on the moon and cars could go faster if you simply performed flips with them. In a time when racing games care far too much about realism, Nail'd reminds you what it's like to just have fun. http://naildbiter.com/nFfBz
Game Guys review: Nail'd
While not as pretty as the higher-end racing games like the NFS and GT series, Nail'd does well enough to give gamers a good-looking product. The off-road environments are well themed and look realistic enough and the sheer variety of settings that make up even just a single track can be just short of amazing. Even with a number of racers booking it full-speed, there didn't seem to be any frame-rate issues or slowdown, either. http://naildbiter.com/tgQwN
Southpeak Prepares Us For Nail'd
Southpeak Games has prepared us with some Altitude Sickness Pills (spearmints) and the best yet is the White Knuckle Cream which actual says on it Relieves: uncontrollable fear, trepidation, timidity, hesitation, anxiety, abject consternation, uneasiness. While that statement gave me a laugh, the cream can actually be used for White Knuckle Syndrome stating The intensity of Naild forces you to grip the controller tighter, causing blood to flow away from the knuckles in fear. This is commonly know as â˜White Knuckle Syndrome. Apply a generous slathering of White Knuckle Cream to your affected knuckle region for higher scores, increased confidence and overall awesomeness. â" Feel the intensity at www.whiteknucklecream.com. As hilarious as this promotional cream is you can actually use it but the Altitude Sickness Pills clearly state DON'T EAT THE CREAM. http://naildbiter.com/p11qf

The only complaint we have is about the graphics. They aren't exactly last gen, but they aren't exactly this gen either. They fall somewhere in between, and that was a little disappointing. The game does play at 1080p and the graphics definitely don't make the game unplayable, it is just not up to par with most great games released for this generation of consoles. While we fully understand that the faster you go the blurrier the picture gets, the picture shouldn't look bad when you're waiting to take off at the start of the race. The game is still worth the price even with this flaw. http://naildbiter.com/HmSpo
Nail'd A World Of Dangerous Speed
Techland's single-minded focus on delivering a high-speed, thrilling experience comes at the expense of the game's overall breadth. The career mode consists mainly of the same come-in-first race type, punctuated by Stunt Challenges. These are basically the same as a normal race, only the winner is determined by who can perform a limited roster of stunts â" which are not like ATV vs. MX-style tricks, but are simple feats like landing on other riders or making huge boost jumps. Of course, Nail'd is not supposed to be a trick-based title like Pure, but I wish it found a way to augment its speed rush with more gameplay options and variety. At least there's day-one DLC featuring a Detonator mode that requires you to perform a boost move in order to get a bomb off your back. Still, Nail'd is not a game with great depth. http://naildbiter.com/739WH
Nail'd
What makes Nail'd so crazy is the speed you'll be going when you have boost. Press A and you'll get a short burst of nitro and if you want to refill it you need to land jumps properly (and perpendicular to the ground), do feats, or simply go through the flaming gates and hoops. Word of wisdom: don't lay on the boost for a long amount of time unless you need to get somewhere very quickly, I found doing small bursts (even simple presses of boost) was much more efficient as I didn't seem to go faster when laying on the nitro (though impossible to tell since there's no speedometer in Nail'd). http://naildbiter.com/sL8ya

There is lots of replay value in this title just from the different routes and short cuts. In each map there are unique portions that can cut time out of your run or lead you to a new portion of the map. As you progress through career mode, you'll unlock a number of different parts for your ATV/MTX. These don't necessarily upgrade your vehicle so much as modify it, diminishing certain stats while upgrading others. It certainly won't satisfy fans of Forza-style tuning nor does it add an obscene amount of depth, however it does ensure ensure that your ride is tuned to your driving style for maximum effectiveness. http://naildbiter.com/DU7Q8
nail'd Review
nail'd is not concerned with deep customization, detailed specifications, or the long road to... well, anything. The developers at Techland seem to understand that these things are secondary to what makes a good racing game. Sometimes, we just want to go fast and fly high, and that's exactly what this new offroad ATV/MTX racer lets players do... in the most extreme of ways. For anyone who's interested in white-knuckle, adrenaline-pumping action, this is one wild ride you won't want to miss. http://naildbiter.com/xyhrQ

Nail'd A World Of Dangerous Speed
Creating a fast racing experience sounds like a fundamental requirement of any racing title, but Nail'd isn't just a game that blows by low expectations. It's a focused experience that sticks to a tight racing line and captures the essence of speed in a flash. http://naildbiter.com/XFEYb
Nail'd (Xbox 360, PS3, PC) Review
To complement all of this rich gameplay, Nail'd also has rich graphics and a great soundtrack. One thing I will say: if you're stopping to look at how pretty the game is you need to re-evaluate your priorities because you're playing the game ALL wrong. However, there will be moments when you can soar through the air for extended periods of time and take note of the pretty landscapes without worrying about crashing into anything. As I mentioned before, the game also has a great (see also: metal) soundtrack, featuring songs like Count for Something and Through Walls of Flame by Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed, and Decimator by Wayne Static. The soundtrack also contains songs by Slipknot, Queens of the Stone Age, Rise Against, Aggressive Chill and Slaves of Dope, among others. http://naildbiter.com/aNQz5

When you do crash (and you will, many times), you'll get a short slow motion vignette of the crash before it puts you back in the race (usually just ahead of where you crashed since you usually need an ample amount of speed to make certain jumps) a few seconds later. Obviously you don't want to crash, but I've had a few times where I crashed beside another racer and when I respawned, I was easily a few seconds ahead of him. I'm not sure if it was a bug or just one of â˜those spots', but it wasn't always consistent with how far ahead or behind it put me. http://naildbiter.com/UM1N8

You can gain boost by driving through fiery checkpoints or performing stunts like popping wheelies or knocking other drivers off the map. This will allow you to boost and get some extra air for those harder to reach paths. In nail'd there are a few modes of play, like Simple Race, Stunt challenge, Boost Madness, Time Attack and Detonator. Simple race is just as it sounds, stunt challenge is a bit trickier as it combined being fast with stunts, and Time Attack is all about posting the quickest time. Detontator is like a game of hot potato with a bomb attached to your back, stunt to get rid of it and not blow up. http://naildbiter.com/3deqq

Nail'd Review
Unfortunately, although very good, the track design is not perfect. For one, although the tight turns and high speed normally provide a pleasing sort of tension, the game occasionally steps over the line and becomes uncomfortably tight and fast. There are also occasional issues with camera placement and collision detection that can cause surprising, and frustrating crashes. What's more, although there are a decent number of tracks, they are only spread out over four locales. This makes all of the stages begin to feel repetitive as you advance through tournament mode and experience them over and over again. In spite of this repetition, the tournament mode still provides plenty of hours of enjoyment thanks the breakneck speed and intensity. http://naildbiter.com/GXREJ

Nail'd Review
Speaking of the track design, it is definitely one of the high notes of nail'd. Techland has taken care to add a tremendous sense of verticality into each and every one of the game's 14 tracks (or 18 if you include the free on-disc DLC). This means that you'll spend up to 25% of your time airborne, avoiding hot air balloons and windmills thanks to in-air controls. These jumps become all the more awe inspiring thanks to the game's engine's ability to render the massive, beautiful vistas with ease. Once you hit the ground, the vertigo inducing moments doesn't stop as levels are peppered with moments, although this time it is as a result of driving straight down the side of a mountain or down a tree scattered forest. Add to this a pervading sense of claustrophobia, innumerable branches on any track, and occasional graphical effects that partially obscure your vision, and you have a game that forces you to stay continually tense lest you wreck into one of the many obstacles. Fortunately, once you crash, which you certainly will, the developers have ensured that it not will totally destroy your race through short respawn times and placing you actually ahead of where you wrecked. http://naildbiter.com/GjSeE
Overall
Normally I would say that a racing game is a racing game is a racing game. Not so with Nail'd. I don't go out of my way to play this genre, but I couldn't wait to get my hands on Nail'd and my expectations have far been exceeded. Replay and tell your friends value are extremely high. http://naildbiter.com/uKzAl

Right off the bat, Nail'd's AI can be quite aggressive. Simply put, this game wants to win just as much as you do. Luckily for the player, the AI seems to have two modes: aggressive speed-demon and brainless hack. Assuming you've made it into first place, it wouldn't be unheard of to either win by ten seconds or more or have your bike knocked out within 100 meters of the finish line. Exhilarating or exasperating -- either way, it's a whole lot of fun. http://naildbiter.com/VU5tp

In keeping with the game's speed and extreme nature, Nail'd's overall design is of a standard alternative sports aesthetic with punk and graffiti-inspired accents and course decor that would be familiar to fans of other MX/ATV games. There's even some wacky wailing inflatable arm flailing tube men to cheer you on. Nail'd A World Of Dangerous Speed
Courses are also spiced up by the fact that you can steer your bike up, down, left, and right while you're in midair. This doesn't sound like much, but the way that this functionality is merged with the tracks' design and the overall sense of speed amplifies the thrills to gravity defying proportions. Many of the jumps in the game require some sort of mid-air adjustment. Choosing where to go is often a leap into the unknown and part of the fun. Sometimes you have to decide pretty early on whether you're going to pull up for more air or dive down to avoid getting smacked in the face with a tree. Other times there are multiple routes around a level to choose from, and the game gives you the luxury of deciding while you're flying several stories up in the air. Nail'd's claustrophobic, fish eye-like camera complements the onscreen adrenaline rush, and even though it can leave you blind occasionally, there are enough environmental clues to steer you in the right direction â" even when you're turning almost 180 degrees in midair. http://naildbiter.com/BXDkn

Stunt Madness is another of Nail'd's multiplayer modes, this one puts an emphasis on stunts as you may or may not have guessed. While Nail'd doesn't let players do Supermans and tail whips, it does let players go higher and faster than any other racing game without moon physics or cheats enabled and that's what stunt madness is about. Players receive points for each stunt completed, such as landing a huge jump, maneuver through rings of fire and especially for knocking the hell out of other players. If for some reason you still need excitement and speed, Nail'd has you covered with Boost Madness, which enables unlimited boosting. That means players will go a hell of a lot faster and therefore, crash into a lot more stuff (which is another good reason to play Nail'd). http://naildbiter.com/WA4dn
Nail'd review: Ride on my beautiful balloon
There's a lot of potential in Nail'd as a franchise. Personally, I would have liked to see developer Techland take greater advantage of the impossible physics and insane track design. It's just begging for some Burnout-inspired party modes, for example. As it stands, Nail'd is an arcade racer less about perfection and more about the simple joys of going fast and landing big stunts. It's a simple trick, but it's well-executed. Throw in online and system link multiplayer for 12 players (no split-screen, sorry), plenty of unlockables and free DLC, and Nail'd is an attractive budget title. http://naildbiter.com/GO5qK

In the Garage, you can even customize your rider and ride. While the rider doesn't have many options other than your racing suit and gender, the real customization comes in tuning your quad or dirtbike just how you want. There are multiple parts you can change for each section of your vehicle and different parts will have different stats. The parts that can be changes are Body, Engine, Wheels, Handlebars, Shocks, Exhaust, and Engine; and the features that are changed with parts are Ground Steering, Air Steering, General Acceleration, Boost Acceleration, Boost Regen, and Total Boost Capacity. Every part also has its own unique look as well (including colors), so you can build your bike to your liking in not only stats, but looks as well. What's great about this is that there's no â˜best' bike with all the stats full, you'll build your quad to suit how you play. I chose acceleration stats instead of boost just because of the way I found I was playing after a few hours; it's completely up to you. As you progress through the career you'll unlock more parts as you go to help you along the way. http://naildbiter.com/cFe4J
Nail'd Review (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3)
OK, so we'll make room for one more great off-road racer. What Nail'd lacks in an intricate trick system and AI difficulty, it more than makes up for with wild racing fun and a solid presentation. It's safe to say that the feeling is, um, Nail'd. (That's the last joke, really. We were nailing them for some time, though. D'oh!) http://naildbiter.com/Yd9wG
Review: Nail'd
For some, Nail'd simply being the fastest damned game on the market won't be enough to sell them on picking up the controller and giving it a go. That's understandable, as there are deeper and more polished experiences in both the simulation and arcade categories. But despite its lack of any real innovation or complexity, Nail'd succeeds in being one of the most approachable and entertaining racers of the year. Just temper your expectations accordingly, hit the gas and ignore the brakes, and you'll have one hell of a ride. http://naildbiter.com/QZwkV

Grab your white knuckle cream, it's gonna be a bumpy ride.
You start as a male or female driver with little customization other than changing your race gear, but that is okay because all customization is left to your vehicle. In this title you race either an ATV or a dirt bike but can swap out and upgrade parts on your vehicle to boost its stats. Aside from swapping out parts you can also customize your paint job and paint on your parts as well. Quite honestly nail'd is not about fluff, it's about balls out racing with super big jumps that will make you duck in real life. http://naildbiter.com/uSBuT
Review Naild
Techland has done a great job capturing the essence of a fast paced, off the wall racing game that takes the action to a new level. Throughout my time with nail'd, I never felt artificially punished and always wanted to come back for just one more race. The sense of speed, combined with the big air, which often reminded me of ski jumping, is an awesome combination for an off-road arcade racer like nail'd. I don't really have anything particularly negative to say about this game, nail'd is a solid title that will fill a hole you might not have known existed. http://naildbiter.com/LKjiP
Gas Pedal What Other Controls Do You Need?
Not many in Nail'd. Using the same fundamental controls as every racer I've ever played, Left Trigger is Gas, Left Trigger is Brake, Directional Pads to steer and X to use your speed burst. Pretty simple to pick up and I must say â" I've yet to use the brake function, ha ha. http://naildbiter.com/bVyqf
Variety is the Spice of Living Dangerously
Location, Location Location â" and oh, man the choices! Nail'd takes the cake for craziest courses but you can also customize several factors in your racing experience. Ranging from number of AI or real-life players to boosts and whether you can shove one another out of the way, gamers can easily create a racing experience to their liking, whether easy or extremely insane.
TIP: If you really want to get your heart racing, try a quick match with Boost Madness enabled. Just hold down the Right Trigger and X for the ride of your life! http://naildbiter.com/djrTF

here are also leaderboards to see how you rank up against other players around the world. You can filter the leaderboards to limit the rankings by country, state, or region. A great way to see how you personally rank against riders from Great Britain or all of Europe. http://naildbiter.com/E3Hsb
Nail'd (Xbox 360/PS3/PC) review
Nail'd is also a rare racing game in that all the tracks are unlocked right from the beginning, so you can blaze through falling trees in the Sawmill stage before you RIDE THE SIDE OF A DAM in the aptly named Dam Buster course. Personally, I feel there aren't enough fog-laden forests in racing games, or in video games for that matter so it was a treat to try out the Mist track, which features wind tunnels, mad jumps, risky cliffs and its share of dead trees. http://naildbiter.com/pNfqRpguMi
Nail'd A World Of Dangerous Speed
The game's tracks do an excellent job of combining set-piece moments, speed-building straightaways, strategically placed gates that give you turbo boost, and enough twists and turns to keep things very interesting. My favorites are the races that consist of one long course rather than a lap format, simply because everything you experience is new from moment to moment. Although Nail'd doesn't match the over-the-top craziness of Split/Second, there were enough boulder avalanches, hurtling trains, and giant swinging sawblades to keep things deadly and exciting. http://naildbiter.com/37CAK
Nail'd (Xbox 360, PS3, PC) Review
Nail'd also includes a lot of different modes too. There's the classic one on one -- or one against many -- called Simple Race. Up to 12 players can race each other locally or over Xbox LIVE. In the event that you can't find 11 other people to race against, don't worry, the computer can fill in the blanks for you. And don't worry about a lack of challenge either; the computer controlled racers are no push overs. In fact, it might be you who gets pushed -- into oncoming danger or some environmental hazards like cliffs, trees and even trains. http://naildbiter.com/i6vL6
